Migrating from the previous plugin

Use this procedure when the shop uses the previous Orbitvu SUN plugin (module Orbitvu_Sun). The migration command copies its product links, presentation items, unlink history and settings, including the license key, to Orbitvu Cloud (v2). The previous plugin and its data are not changed.

Before you start

1. Install Orbitvu Cloud (v2) next to the previous plugin, see Installation. Do not remove the previous plugin yet.
2. Run the commands below in the Magento root directory, as the owner of the Magento files (not as root).

While the previous plugin is enabled, product pages still use its gallery. Store views with a Hyvä theme, which the previous plugin does not support, show the gallery of the theme. The Orbitvu Cloud gallery appears when the previous plugin is disabled in step 3.

Step 1: preview the migration

bin/magento orbitvu:cloud:migrate-from-sun --dry-run

Nothing is changed. The output shows how many settings, product links and unlink history records would be copied. It shows 0 content items, because the items are counted only for product links that are already copied.

Step 2: run the migration

bin/magento orbitvu:cloud:migrate-from-sun
bin/magento cache:flush

The migration:

• copies the settings of the previous plugin, including the license key (settings already changed in Orbitvu Cloud are replaced, unless you add --skip-settings),
• links the presentations to the same products, with the same item order and visibility,
• keeps the unlink history, so automatic linking does not link again what was unlinked by hand,
• skips links to products that no longer exist and reports them.

The command can be run again safely: what was already migrated is kept and not copied twice.

Step 3: disable the previous plugin

Product pages now use the Orbitvu Cloud gallery. Check a few products with presentations. Store views with a Hyvä theme also need the Hyvä compatibility module, see Installation.

Orbitvu Cloud (v2) has no Auto Synchronizing URL or Auto Linking URL: replace cron jobs that called the URLs of the previous plugin with the commands, see Batch operations.
